Call John Amond at (503) 799-9534 if you have any questions.

Before you can be NRA certified for any of the discipline-specific NRA instructor classes you must:

1.  Have compleated the NRA Basic Instructor Training class (BIT) within the last two years
2.  Submit a Pre-Course Questionnaire together with your application for the class
3.  Pass a Pre-Course Qualification test intended to determine your suitability for the discipline-specific course that comes next.

Candidates for Instructor Training must understand that the NRA Instructor Training Courses are not designed to teach shooting skills, or to prepare candidates to teach courses other than those of the NRA Basic Firearm Training Program. The NRA Instructor courses teach the NRA methodology and standards for teaching classes.

No live ammunition or loaded firearms are allowed in the classroom at any time.  Posession of a CHL does NOT exempt you from these rules. Handling a firearm in the classroom will result in immediate dismissal from the class. There will be no refunds.

Unless you make other arrangements in advance for all shooting classes you must bring the firearm you intend to use for the class boxed or cased. Handguns must be .380 caliber or larger. For handguns the slide must lock in the open position manually, and when the gun is empty. You will need enough magazines to have 30 rounds available at the start of any course of fire. i.e. if your magazines are 10 round magazines you will need at least three. Instructors will inspect guns for suitability in the training. For handguns 9mm or larger is recommended. You must bring, or make arrangements in advance for, muff type hearing protection and wrap around eye protection. A cap with a bill is recommended. Clothing must be suitable for the range. No open toed shoes, sandals or any footware that leaves any part of the foot exposed. Call John, (503) 799-9534, if you have specific issues thar must be worked out.

Note: There is certification processing fees payable to the NRA due upon the completion of class. Fee's are determined by how many and which courses you wish to be NRA certified.
